Impresa Legal is pleased to announce that former GSA Commissioner and long-time senior government leader Julie A. Dunne has joined the firm ….. Julie will dramatically strengthen Impresa’s Government Contracts and overall capabilities. She most recently served as Commissioner for the Federal Acquisition Service (federal organization of 3,500 staff and $18.8 billion budget) at the General Services Administration (GSA) and was responsible for serving federal agency customers with acquisition solutions.  Beyond the GSA, Julie has also served in the Department of Homeland Security as an Associate General Counsel for general law and the Department of Commerce as a Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Export Administration. On the Hill side, Julie served as the Staff Director on the Government Operations Subcommittee of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and as Senior Counsel on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Julie is also President of Dunne Strategic Solutions LLC, a federal strategy consulting firm and a Senior Advisor at the Chertoff Group. Her combined public service and “big law” experience allows her to provide Impresa clients with insights into federal acquisition, federal IT management, cybersecurity, security clearance reform, civil service, data security, and major investigations. She is also an expert in “the business of government contracting” with respect to risk management, procurement opportunities, and government operations.

Prior to joining Impresa, for almost two decades, Tad Lunger was in private practice at some of the country’s and region’s largest law firms as well as working internally for local government.  Ashley Smith also comes from both sides of the aisle, having large firm legal and urban planning experience as well as having served in zoning and planning capacities internally in local government in the region.
